DAY 1: Visit Machu Picchu by Vistamode Train – Full Day
Transfer from your hotel at 05.45 am to Poroy Train Station. (1st Train leave at 06:40 am). The Vistadome train ride consists of spectacular views in this
wonderful land of the Incas, (has big panoramic Windows and snack services ) amazing landscapes of mountains and valleys, Inca farming terraces from Ollantaytambo on both sides of the valleys, snow capped mountains and sub-tropical jungle near the Ceja de Selva. See the Veronica snow capped mountain on the right side, and the famous Inca Trail trek starting point on the left side. From Pachar the Vilcanota river will be our companion until arrival at Aguas Calientes (2040m) well known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. Your guide will meet you at the train station and transfer you to the bus terminal then 25 minutes bus ride to Machu Picchu Citadel.(Bring your original Passport) A guided tour of Machu Picchu also called “The Old Sacred Mountain” takes approx 2 hrs and then you have some free time for photos.
Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas, is where the last emperors, priestsand priestesses took refuge and where the empire survived for 40 years after the arrival of the Spaniards. Machu Picchu is a prodigy of architecture with aesthetic recklessness and majestic views.
The bus ticket down to the town of Aguas Calientes is included. You have two options for your return to Cusco. The first option is to take a train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, then take a private bus from Ollantaytambo to your accommodation in Cusco. The second option is a train from Aguas Calientes to Poroy, Cusco. Your transfer from Poroy to your accommodation is included.
You will return by The Vistadome Train to Poroy station arriving at 8.50 pm and then receive a private transport to Cusco arriving to Plaza Recocijo near Cusco`s main Plaza de Armas at approximately 9:30 pm. We can also arrangearrange to have a private trasnport back to your hotel at no extra cost
