The short inca trail 2 days include a good walk of 15 km to Machu Picchu, passing through famous "Gate of the Sun" and spectacular views, landscapes of mountains and the jungle. You’ll also visit Incan archaeological sites along the route, such as Chachabamba, Choquesuysuy and the amazing Winay Wayna Complex.

Cusco - Machu Picchu
Day 1: Train Ollantaytambo - arrival to km 104. Starting the way we will see the the first ruins. After walk 4 hours we arrive to Machu Picchu Citadel. Descend to the entry of Machu Picchu where we board the bus to Aguas Calientes.
Day 2: First bus to Machu Picchu, we will explore Machu Picchu citadel for 2-3 hours. In the afternoon we take our train of return to Ollantaytambo. Then we will take the bus to return to Cusco.

DAY 1: Hike to Wiñayhuayna- Machupicchu – Aguas Calientes
We will pick you up from your hotel at 4:00am in our private transportation. We will then travel to the train station where we will leave for Ollantaytambo. We will take the train for an hour and 10 minutes to KM 104 where we will begin the Inca Trail and the start of our adventure. We are going to pass the checkpoint of the Inca Trail where you will need to show your passport. We are going to see the first archelogical site Chachabamba. This is the checkpoint to take a break from hiking or for those who are going directly to Machu Picchu, Vilcabamaba, or the jungle.
We are going to walk gradually up and where will see beautiful flora and fauna along the way. After approximately 3 hours we will pass by a waterfall and then arrive at the archeological center of Wiñay Wayna at 2650 msnm. The name comes from an orchid named Wiñay Wayna which means forever young. Then we will continue along the path towards the Sungate located at 2,745 msnm. This place offers the first panoramic views of Machu Picchu. Finally, we will take a bus down to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night in a hotel.
DAY 2: Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco
We are going to wake up early in the morning to take the first bus up to Machu Picchu to see the sunrise over the Inca City. We will have a guided tour for two hours and then after you will have time to explore the city on your own. Those that reserved a ticket to Huana Picchu or the Machu Picchu mountain will have time to climb up the mountain and after your guide will leave you at the entrance of Machu Picchu. We will then go back to Aguas Clientes by bus where we will eat lunch and then catch the train to return to Ollantaytambo. Our staff will wait for you and then they will take you back to Cusco in a private bus and drop you off at your hotel.

Money in soles or dollars. (ATM´s or cash machines and travellers cheques in Aguas Calientes are more expensive to change.)
